What happened to 2011?

As per usual, I faded out on my posts...
A few weeks ago, I was sorting out and rearranging furniture and discovered a box of letters my friends had written to me. Not the notes that you pass in class, but actual letters. It saddened me to realise that we just don't do that anymore. I loved getting letters in the post - even if the news was 2 months old, it was still exciting to open that envelope.
So I sent a message out (on Facebook - where else?!) asking if anyone wanted to receive letters. Honestly, I was surprised at the number of people who agreed, but glad too.
This resulted in my organising all my stationery too (and there is a lot of writing paper there!) and I've set myself a schedule to write my letters - it sounds daft, but I know I need to have some kind of deadline for myself or I'll be worse than I was last year!
It was only 2 days ago that I realised that writing those letters is the equivalent of posting on this blog... [genius...] That was how this blog started - I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep everyone updated.
So maybe, just maybe, I can make myself be more diligent about writing posts - and hopefully not things that I'm continuously complaining about!
I am looking forward to the end of the year when my letter writing schedule is full and knowing that I did something useful this year. I think that's partly what it is - giving myself a hobby of some kind. Plus, with legacies from my grandmother and aunt, I know I have to try to be better at keeping in touch with people!
All being well, I'll be in touch again soon :)
