Late at night, walking "home", pushed the pedestrian button to cross the road and waited.
As typically happens, there was a lull in traffic before the light changed. (I still waited!)
I was halfway across the road and realised that a van hadn't been planning on stopping. He did manage to brake in time, but my reaction was unusual.
Normally I startle, my skin prickles and I feel kinda sick from the shock. (Interesting how so many of us have had this happen enough to have a "normal" reaction!)
My actual response was "oh. That happened." And no alarm, no panicking.
I don't know if it's reflective of my state of mind that I basically had no reaction to almost being run over.
Huh. This might be something I actually have to deal with. Damnit.
But the main purpose of this post is to put this "out there": Thank You to my guardian angels who always look after me.
