TV

Ironically, this post almost follows-on from the last one: one night I was watching an episode of Stargate – my darling father says “Is this Garstate?” I just said yes and packed up laughing. There is no hope for me…

So while I’m talking about Stargate, I suddenly realised the other day: I’m watching too much Stargate when I start recognising the supporting actors! I guess when you move them between SG1 and Atlantis you can kinda get away with different universes – and Lt Elliot from Proving Ground could have a double who is the soon-to-be-dead leader of a planet of boys (forgotten the episode). But when Major Coburn from Maternal Instinct (I only realised when I saw The First Ones) ends up being Cumulus – I mean, Camulus – in Season 8, I dunno about that…
Of course it takes me ages to figure out who they are! It took me years to realise that the nice stepsister, Jacqueline, in “Ever After” is Charlie’s stalker neighbour, Rose, in “Two and a Half Men”! And it hits me at really strange times – like while I’m making my lunch, or about to go to sleep!

My new favourite thing is to watch the Vancouver-filmed tv shows and see the actors jump from show to show! Every time I look at Todd the Wraith, all I can see is General Zod (though not Alistair, surprisingly enough) – little difficult to give the show your full attention when you get distracted by silly details like that! And I’m bad about ignoring the story to see if I recognise any of the background! So by the end of the episode I’ve completely lost the plot, but I’ve figured out exactly where they filmed the opening scene…
