At the end of September, a friend and I went to Cape Town for the long weekend. A two-fold trip: one - to see Jeff Dunham live in South Africa :) ; and two - to be a tourist in Cape Town! It was fantastic!
We had amazing weather on the first two days and I even managed to burn my scalp... We did part of the coastline, saw Muizenberg, Simonstown, False Bay, Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak, even Stellenbosch (briefly) and most importantly, Cape Point! It was the one thing we were both determined to do - even in our high heels! (I think people thought we'd managed to get lost on our way to the mall...)
We took nearly 500 photos in those 3 days ;) But we have some of the most amazing photos! And the really cool thing is that we actually have people in some of those photos! Tourists (even local ones) are very helpful to other (obvious) tourists and it was very kind of the people we met to take photos of us.
It was amazing - took me all week to catch up on the sleep, but totally worth it!
And the show was brilliant! You can laugh at the American jokes, but when they go to such effort to make it relevant for SA, it's even better! And I think everyone appreciated it much more. Seats weren't ideal, but good enough and at least we could see!! I kept having visions of a pillar right in front of us!
And my very special godfather made the whole weekend possible :) I'm going to owe him a whole batch of mayonnaise all to himself!! On that note: I'm very proud cos I successfully made mayo the other day and it tastes good! Now I have to successfully make more and dish it out (literally) to certain friends! Busy, busy weekend ahead!

I'm glad it was fantastic. I'd like to see some more of the photos (especially if you have some photos of penguins)
I hope you don't try and send the mayonnaise all the way to Cape Town, I don't think it would last :D
