Writing - all forms

While I'm at it, I figured I should post something quickly.
I've just submitted my first assignment for a Creative Writing course I'm taking.  I was all excited about it (especially as I actually did the assignment before I knew what it was...!) until I read the discussion forum and was slightly intimidated by the practice submissions everyone was posting.  There is some serious talent out there!  I really hope the course sponsor picks up on some of them, because they are definitely stories I'd want to read.

I think I might also try to write a couple of letters tonight.  As always, I optimistically took my writing kit up to Joburg with me last week - I guess kind of an anti-superstition.  I was just way too busy to have time to write.  Thankfully everything went really well, but the catch-up this week has been crazy.  And another big meeting this week.  I've already had to make a list of all the things I have to do "first" when I get to work tomorrow. 

And just posted on Facebook:  the thesaurus gave an example for "wonder" that was "I wondered about Tammy after that streaking episode" -??!!  It was too funny!  Totally broke the mood for trying to finalise my assignment!  Funnily enough, as I was flipping through the pages, I thought how much I love be able to use books for things like that.  Google has become an answer to everything that I love going back to printed matter to solve something.  Plus, without an internet connection, I have to rely on books more!

I was saying to my mom yesterday that if nothing else, I will have a tremendous reading list from the creative writing course!
Now to write a couple of letters, then off to bed to start another crazy week - at 5am... I'm still trying to work out why I do this to myself...
