Random update

Well, it's been aaaaggges since I last wrote anything. I don't really have anything to say right now. My father is watching rugby and yelling at the players, so Lottie has wandered off to hide somewhere safe. My mother is stoically keeping my father company (she's actually concentrating on her embroidery!) and I'm avoiding watching our team lose! (Secretly, I'm actually rooting for the opposition, but don't tell!)

I managed to break my glasses this afternoon - on a public holiday, over a weekend when no stores are open and I can't afford to get my glasses fixed - most genius... On the plus side, I might just end up getting contacts before my brother's wedding in 3 weeks time. (ha-ha. Ha.) And I've just spent my money on getting a new camera. Hmmm, being able to see or having photos?? Tough choice.

Life updates: my brother gets married at the end of May; my mother is out from the UK for 2 months, mostly for the wedding; my aunt is visiting from Spain for the wedding; I'm still working at local doctors' rooms (just trying to plot on how I can move out of home...); Lottie's fine - no more lumps, thank heavens; Loco is old - she keeps getting scared by patterns on carpets and cushions; my best friend's brother had a baby boy last week; and my very special friend at work had a grandson three days earlier! So it's a busy time overall. I have my two weeks' leave coming up and I am finally counting down the days! I cannot wait!

Nothing major has happened - I'm still trying to realise the fact that it's May already. I honestly thought it was still February, which makes me more than a little behind... The more terrifying thing is that next Friday is one year since I left Canada. I can't believe it's a year already. Some days it feels like that year never happened and my life in SA just carried on, but other days it feels like I was *just* there and pleeeeaaasseee can I go back?!!

Um, so now I'm going to see if I can commandeer the tv (now that I have adjusted to my old glasses again and our team lost the rugby...) - bets on how soon my parents will go to bed after I pick the movie?!! ;)
